Phoenix audio Theata
The Phoenix Audio Theata is an 8-channel Class A active instrument preamp/DI unit combined with an analog summing mixer, designed to be the central hub of modern studios. Ideal for hybrid setups combining electronic instruments, synthesizers, guitars, and DAWs, it offers a complete solution for amplifying, coloring, routing, and summing signals with professional audio quality.
Each channel incorporates a discrete, high-impedance (10 MΩ) Class A instrument preamp, ensuring extremely faithful and open reproduction of the source. This design prevents signal loss or "saturation," often seen with passive DIs, and preserves the full dynamic range and nuances of the instruments.
With 30 dB of gain per channel, the Theata can amplify quiet signals as well as sculpt the sound, adding character from a clear and precise sound to a warm, analog saturation.
One of the Theata's key strengths is its integrated Class A analog summing system, coupled with a flexible routing matrix. Each channel can be individually assigned to the left/right bus, allowing for sub-mixing or summing multiple sources to a single analog stereo output. This approach adds depth, punch, and dimension to productions, far surpassing a "in-the-box" mix.
The signal is then processed by the Class A DSOP-2 output stage, coupled with custom-designed Phoenix Audio transformers, delivering a rich and musical sonic signature inspired by vintage analog circuits.
Each channel features comprehensive controls: a variable high-pass filter (45 to 250 Hz), a -15 dB pad, phase inversion, and ground lift, enabling precise signal control and adaptation to any source.
The Theata also offers advanced features such as stereo width control, a stereo bus insert for integrating external effects, and a linking bus that allows combining two units to create a 16-channel system.
With its numerous inputs and outputs (up to 24 inputs and 20 outputs), routing flexibility and build quality, the Phoenix Audio Theata is an ideal solution for professional studios, electronic producers and sound engineers looking for a complete tool for DI, preamp and analog summing in a single device.
