Neumann TLM 102 BK
The TLM 102 microphone defines a new generation of Neumann studio microphones, both in terms of its design and its price. Its small dimensions contribute to an exceptionally compact appearance, incorporating all the typical elements of the Neumann microphone look. Its harmonious proportions and the shiny ring under the grille ensure that the TLM 102 attracts attention at first glance.
In terms of sound, the TLM 102 is impressive. It integrates a new large-diameter capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, which can handle a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB, which allows it to record percussion, drums, guitar or bass amps and other very loud sound sources. But even instruments with a lower sound level will benefit from the very fast response of the TLM 102 on transients. However, its preferred field of application remains vocals, whether sung or spoken. A slight rise in the response curve above 6 kHz ensures excellent vocal presence in the mix. Up to 6 kHz, the frequency response is very linear, resulting in minimal coloration and clearly defined bass. The capsule is mounted on an elastic suspension, eliminating the solid-borne transmission of structural noise. A pop shield integrated into the grille eliminates plosives when recording singing or speaking voices in close proximity.
Thanks to its price and its many areas of application, the TLM 102 is ideal for home recording and for the project studio sector, as well as in broadcast, especially if it is important not to obstruct the visibility of the presenters.
The TLM 102 is available in black and nickel finishes; it comes with its microphone stand mount.
