ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Designed for small studios, short listening distances and immersive multi-channel setups, the A4V delivers full, precise sound in a compact form factor. This two-way speaker features the classic X-ART tweeter and a long-excursion 4-inch woofer made from the same multi-layer mineral fibre (MLM) as the other A Series speakers. Onboard DSP-based tuning options make it easy to achieve the ideal sound for your listening space. With a frequency range of 53 Hz to 50 kHz, the A4V is suitable for a wide range of audio applications – from podcast production to string quartet mixing. It will also integrate perfectly into immersive sound setups.

Pivoting HPS Waveguide & X-ART Tweeter
ADAM Audio’s HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology allows for a more even projection of sound, wide horizontally but narrower vertically. The A-Series introduces a pivoting HPS waveguide. You can rotate the A-Series tweeters 90 degrees, while still enjoying the HPS waveguide technology whether you install your speakers vertically or horizontally.

The A-Series HPS waveguide is made from a new glass-fiber polymer compound, which helps create a clean sound without unwanted resonance. At the center of the pivoting HPS waveguide is ADAM Audio’s X-ART tweeter. Handcrafted in Germany, the X-ART tweeter delivers precise transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in each of the A Series speakers to deliver precise sound across all models in the range.

Multi-layer mineral fibre woofer
The A Series woofers are made from a specific blend of mineral rock fibres fired together to create a lightweight yet extremely stable material. The mineral composition, stacking and geometry of each cone is specific to the speaker used in each model. By combining this material with the new magnet system, the A Series woofers produce a high output level, with very little distortion, to achieve clear bass.

Hybrid amplification
The A Series combines the best of the digital and analogue worlds. The woofers are powered by Class D amplifiers, which help to produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers have been specifically chosen for their power and efficiency, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction. Less heat dissipation allows for a smaller heat sink, making it easier to invest in the A Series’ exceptional power and performance.

The tweeters and midrange drivers are powered by Class AB amplifiers, which reproduce high frequencies smoothly and naturally. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range. The result is a finely tuned and correctly aligned speaker. To achieve this, ADAM Audio conducted extensive measurements and listening sessions, testing countless amplifiers and amplification components.

DSP Electronics
The A Series takes advantage of the scalability of DSP electronics to deliver speakers that are more precisely tuned and more stable than their purely analog counterparts. With firmware that can be updated via Ethernet, you can expect to see future advances in ADAM Audio’s DSP, including new features and filter types, as well as additional voicings.

Room Adaptation
On the rear of the A-Series speakers, you’ll find four bands of EQ dedicated to adapting to the listening space: Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band is adjustable in steps, giving you over a hundred options to help compensate for typical acoustic issues that arise when placing speakers.

Voicings
A “Voicing” is a predefined sound profile for the A-Series speakers. On the rear, you’ll find three distinct options, “UNR”, “Pure” and “Ext”, selectable with a switch.

A Control Software (Real-Time Remote Control)
The DSP features of all A Series monitors can be controlled remotely and in real-time via Ethernet using A Control software. Customers who have registered their A Series speakers can download the free A Control software for Windows and MacOS from their MyADAM account at www.adam-audio.com.

Once the software is downloaded and installed, you will be able to control multiple speakers at once, fine-tuning the EQ from different listening positions in your studio. You can control speaker levels remotely while you work, if you are far from a fader or physical interface. The remote control capabilities are particularly useful in multi-use rooms, ensuring that voicing, EQ and other parameters are set exactly as you want them.

Room Correction & Sonarworks Integration
The A Series speakers are designed to adapt to changing setups, preferences and environments. Using A Control software, you can manage advanced crossovers directly within a platform built into your monitor speakers, compensating for imperfect acoustics. This integrated platform supports crossovers from industry-leading Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your speakers to suit a new room or preferences.

Bass Reflex, Baffles, and Mounting
The new A Series baffles build on ADAM Audio’s heritage, specifically the AX Series. The A Series baffles feature an evolutionary design and deeper beveled edges to further reduce diffraction. In addition, thicker walls strengthen the baffles and reduce internal vibration, while a flared port on each side optimizes airflow and reduces port noise. All A Series speakers feature a bottom-mounting interface; so you have the flexibility to install them wherever you need them.
