Adam H715 reference
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference is a high-end open-back studio headphone, specifically designed for professional mixing, mastering, and reference listening applications. Developed to deliver exceptionally precise sound reproduction, it combines 40 mm titanium-plated PEN diaphragm drivers, an open-back acoustic design, and advanced technologies to ensure faithful and detailed sound reproduction.
Thanks to its dedicated Hi-Fi mode, the H715 Reference is also suitable for high-end audiophile setups, delivering an immersive, uncompromising listening experience.
Its ergonomic, lightweight design, memory foam ear cushions, and adjustable headband ensure excellent comfort, even during long work sessions. It comes with multiple cables, interchangeable ear cushions, and a hard-shell carrying case, offering great versatility both in the studio and at home.
Titanium-plated PEN drivers: precision and sonic transparency
The H715 Reference features 40 mm dynamic drivers, specially developed by ADAM Audio. Equipped with a titanium-plated PEN diaphragm and high-power neodymium magnets, they offer an extended frequency response from 9 Hz to 40 kHz, excellent low-frequency reproduction, and exceptionally low distortion.
Their design is based on a carefully optimized acoustic suspension system and a patent-pending venting system. The drivers are angled and housed within a woven steel mesh structure, promoting an open, natural, and transparent soundstage.
Specialized acoustic materials surround the transducers to minimize unwanted resonances and ensure a balanced and precise listening experience—essential for mixing and mastering work.
Ergonomic Design for Long Sessions
Designed to meet the demands of audio professionals, the H715 Reference features a robust and comfortable design.
Its spring-steel headband ensures a stable fit while adapting to different head shapes. The padding features a central cutout to reduce pressure on the top of the head.
The memory foam ear cushions, available in soft fabric or faux leather, naturally conform to the contours of the ears to ensure optimal comfort.
The CNC-machined anodized aluminum ear cup supports combine strength, lightness, and a high-end finish. Weighing just 302 g without the cable, the headphones remain comfortable to wear for several hours.
The ear cups can also fold flat for easy storage and transport in the included hard case.
Sonnox Software Suite: Advanced Monitoring Tools
The H715 Reference comes with a software suite developed in collaboration with Sonnox, a specialist in audio processing and monitoring tools.
The Headphone Utility plug-in allows you to optimize the headphones’ response using specific calibration settings. Notably, it includes an adjustable crossfeed function designed to reproduce the stereophonic perception of a pair of monitor speakers more naturally through the headphones.
The ListenHub app complements this solution by offering several features dedicated to critical listening:
Comparison of mixes against references from streaming platforms
Level normalization for reliable comparisons
Mono compatibility check
Analysis of side channels and stereo balance
Integration of the Headphone Utility plug-in on macOS for system-wide audio calibration
These tools help refine mixing decisions and improve the consistency of productions across different listening systems.
Hi-Fi Mode: Balanced Audiophile Listening
The H715 Reference features a dedicated Hi-Fi mode, designed to fully leverage the performance of audiophile amplifiers equipped with a balanced output.
The headphones come with a 3-meter dual-input Hi-Fi cable, equipped with a 5-pin 4.4 mm Pentaconn connector.
Hi-Fi mode is activated via a recessed button on the left ear cup, accessible using the included metal rod.
This system isolates the left and right channels to enable a balanced audio connection with a compatible differential amplifier.
Pressing the button again returns the unit to standard operation using the single-ended, single-input studio cable.
This dual configuration makes the H715 Reference a versatile solution, suitable for both professional music production and high-fidelity listening.
Modular Design and Durability
ADAM Audio designed the H715 Reference with durability and ease of maintenance in mind.
Components subject to regular wear and tear can be replaced to extend the headphones’ lifespan:
Interchangeable ear pads in soft fabric or faux leather
Replaceable headband padding
Detachable and replaceable audio cables
Can be connected to either the left or right ear cup
Dual connection for use in balanced Hi-Fi mode
The sturdy construction, high-quality materials, and included hard case help protect the headphones during daily use, storage, and travel.
The ADAM Audio H715 Reference is thus a high-end monitoring solution that combines acoustic precision, comfort, versatility, and durability for sound engineers, producers, mastering professionals, and discerning audiophiles.
