Aim audio ORBIT

After several years of development, the Aim Audio team has designed the ORBIT, a revolutionary and patented shock mount, engineered to provide the best possible mounting solution for its microphones. All Aim microphones already feature an integrated direct-to-stand thread and an anti-vibration synthetic rubber capsule mount, but the ORBIT takes the experience even further, providing stability, ease of use, and comfort in the studio.

Unlike traditional shock mounts, which are often complex, fragile, and impractical, the ORBIT is lightweight, robust, and easy to handle. Made of glass fiber-reinforced nylon, it features a semi-open design that facilitates access to the controls while bringing the microphone closer to the sound source. Aim Audio has deliberately abandoned conventional elastic bands, which stretch over time and add unwanted resonances, in favor of solid nylon lyres offering optimal isolation. Its patented system allows for 190-degree angle adjustment, whether for side, front, rear, or intermediate miking positions. A single hand is all that's needed to adjust the microphone's orientation, and it remains perfectly secure. The ORBIT is therefore suitable for vocals, guitars, amplifiers, and overheads, while an integrated cable clip relieves strain on the cable to reduce handling noise.

The kit also includes the SENTRY, a magnetic pop filter designed to control even the most pronounced plosives. Its treated stainless steel structure, perforated with hexagonal micro-openings, optimizes airflow while preserving vocal clarity. Curved around the microphone, it naturally follows the singer's movements and attaches with high-precision magnets, without any risk of electronic interference. For sessions without a pop filter, Aim Audio offers the Resorber magnetic ring, which neutralizes any remaining resonances.
