Altamira Basico - natural satin
The ALTAMIRA Basico is an excellent 4/4 acoustic classical guitar for beginners and intermediate players.
Its traditional construction features an all-solid-wood construction with a solid cedar top, a laminated African mahogany body, a mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard.
Cedar (a conifer native to the Middle East, North Africa, and the Himalayas, and naturalized in Europe) is a less dense wood than spruce. Acoustically, this characteristic results in added warmth. Cedar tends to amplify soft sounds while tempering the high volumes produced by powerful strums.
The Altamira Basico thus produces a sound that is punchy, dense, and warm, with mellow yet precise bass, dynamic mids, and clear highs.
It is well-suited to a wide range of musical genres: classical, of course, but also flamenco, bossa nova, and French chanson.
A solid top will improve and open up over time, especially as it vibrates when played.
