Deckard’s Voice by Black Corporation: the essence of the CS-80 in Eurorack
With Deckard’s Voice, Black Corporation offers a compact and modular version of the legendary Deckard’s Dream, inspired by the legendary Yamaha CS-80. This Eurorack module faithfully reproduces the richness and analog warmth of the 70s, while offering increased flexibility thanks to its numerous CV/audio inputs and outputs. Capable of producing vocal sounds and exploring new sonic dimensions via amplitude modulation, Deckard’s Voice goes beyond the possibilities of the original CS-80 by opening the door to a wider and more modular sound palette.

A monophonic Synth Voice faithful to the CS-80
Without compromising on sound quality, Deckard’s Voice reproduces the sound architecture of its big brother in Eurorack format. Its powerful oscillator simultaneously generates sine, sawtooth and square waves, with an LFO dedicated to pulse width modulation for the square wave. A noise generator completes this sound section, offering individual outputs for each waveform as well as a mixed output.

The signal then passes through a chain of high-pass and low-pass resonant filters in series, with a slope of 12 dB, providing great expressiveness and dynamic sound textures. A VC-LFO with six waveforms is directly assigned to the VCO, VCF and VCA sections, but can also be redirected thanks to its dedicated CV output.

On the modulation side, the module has two independent envelopes:

An ADR envelope for filter management.
An ADSR envelope for the VCA, guaranteeing precise control of the sound level.

Each of these envelopes has its own CV output, allowing for advanced integration into a modular system.
