This Gibson Custom Shop Artisan Series Hummingbird Elegant Koa (CSSSHBEKHB) is a sumptuous reinterpretation of the original Hummingbird.
The Gibson Artisan Series Hummingbird Elegant Koa is a Dreadnought-style electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar. It features an all-solid-wood construction, meticulously crafted from woods selected with the utmost rigor: an AAA Sitka spruce top, a koa back and sides, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard.
Koa is a tropical hardwood native to the island of Hawaii. It is a dense wood that combines the rich mids of mahogany with the brilliance of maple. Instruments crafted from koa will inevitably improve with years of use, gaining warmth, smoothness, and openness.
The LR Baggs EAS-VTC active system allows for easy and effective amplification of the instrument. Volume and tone control knobs are discreetly positioned on the inner edge of the soundhole. The sound is dynamic, open, and faithful to the guitar’s true character.
Caring for My Gibson
Nitrocellulose is a traditional finish prized for certain acoustic qualities but requires special care.
Be careful, then, not to place your guitar on just any stand, as this could damage the finish; we recommend the Hercules brand, whose foam pads are designed to prevent this type of damage.
