Gibson LG-2 50s Original (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - antique natural

The original Gibson LG-2 was introduced in 1942 during Gibson’s so-called “Banner” era. It can be considered a more compact version of the J-45, a Concert Round Shoulder!
It was quickly embraced by guitarists for its pleasant, compact size and its full, rich tone. Originally built with an Adirondack spruce top and a mahogany back and sides, it was redesigned due to material shortages caused by World War II. Depending on availability, the body could be made of maple, with a mahogany top.

The GIBSON Original Collection LG-2 50s (OCSBLGHFAN) is an electro-acoustic reinterpretation of this historic steel-string acoustic guitar, enhanced with the Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.
Featuring an all-solid-wood construction (Sitka spruce top, mahogany body and neck, and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard), it delivers beautiful, clear, dynamic, rich, and warm tones with well-defined midrange, making it particularly well-suited for fans of fingerstyle, blues, or traditional folk.

The LG-2 50s Original is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups positioned under the bridge instead of the usual piezo. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA sensor has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
