Golden age EQ-73 Premier
The EQ-73 PREMIER uses a Class A circuit similar to that of the EQ section of the classic 1073 module, without the high-pass filter. Additional frequencies have been added, and the midrange band is equipped with two Carnhill (UK) inductors. The second inductor is optimized for the lowest frequencies (160 Hz and 240 Hz), ensuring optimum response.
The sonic character of the EQ-73 PREMIER is warm, punchy, smooth and musical. These characteristics, heard on countless recordings, make it stand out in most musical genres and on many sound sources. It offers an accessible version of the legendary vintage sound, far from exorbitant prices.
Remarkable flexibility
The EQ-73 PREMIER has stepped frequency controls, covering a wide range from 20 Hz to 24 kHz. The low and high bands operate in a shelving mode, while the midrange band adopts a bell curve. The controls offer a range of +/- 15 dB for bass and +/- 18 dB for treble.
The unit is equipped with bypass switches for each band, allowing precise control. The EQ-73 PREMIER can be used as a standalone or connected to the insert of a Golden Age Audio preamplifier. By combining a PRE-73 preamp with an EQ-73 PREMIER, and using a UNITE rackmount kit, you will get a 19-inch 1073-style console strip, offering exceptional sound!
3-band EQ: One mid band using a dual inductor and stepped frequency selection.
