Martin Custom Shop 0-28 - natural vintage gloss aging toner
Manufactured in the United States, the MARTIN Custom Shop 0-28 is a compact steel-string acoustic guitar in the 0 14-Fret / Parlor style with a short scale length of 24.9".
It is crafted from premium-grade solid woods, featuring an Adirondack spruce solid top and bracing (GE-Scalloped Hand-Shaped X), an Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard.
Abundant in the 1930s—a period during which it was notably used to craft the soundboards of Martin guitars—"Red Spruce" or "Adirondack" spruce (Picea rubens) enjoys immense popularity. Denser than common spruce, Adirondack spruce possesses exceptional responsiveness. It also has the rare quality of maintaining its clarity even when the instrument is played with intense force.
The ebony fingerboard provides a noticeable and natural compression to the sound, a characteristic that can be particularly appealing in certain musical contexts.
The Martin Custom Shop 0-28 produces tones that are as intimate as they are responsive, with clear highs, mellow mids, and warm, consistent lows—ideal for fingerstyle playing and nuanced strumming.
Thanks to its superb all-solid-wood construction and impeccable craftsmanship, it possesses all the nuances and expressiveness that have made the American brand famous.
