Martin J-16E - 1935 burst
Manufactured in the United States, the MARTIN 16 Series J-16E 1935 Burst is a Jumbo 14-Fret / Parlor-style electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar with a short scale length of 24.9".
It features a solid Sitka spruce top, a solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard.
This combination produces clear, powerful, percussive, and glossy tones. The bass is full, precise, and responsive, while the mids and highs are well-defined with excellent articulation.
. Indian rosewood is undoubtedly one of the most popular traditional woods. It shares the fundamental character of mahogany with prominent (though more subdued) mids, but with a much wider frequency range extending toward both the lower and upper ends of the spectrum.
. The ebony fingerboard subtly and naturally compresses the sound, adding clarity that can be particularly appreciated in certain musical contexts
Add to this its Super Jumbo body size, and you get an acoustic guitar with impressive projection that will particularly appeal to singer-songwriters and fans of country, Americana, or traditional folk music.
The Baggs Element VTC (Volume Tone Control) system consists of a piezo pickup under the nut, a Class A active preamp built into the jack, and two knobs for adjusting volume and tone.
The tones—whether strumming or picking—are balanced, clear, and dynamic, naturally reproducing the vibrations of the soundboard and bridge, with a dynamic response that’s less rigid or artificial than that of many competing models.
Powered by a 9V LR61 battery with a claimed battery life of approximately 1,000 hours.
