The MUSIC MAN John Petrucci JP15 (661-DZ-10-00-MB-CR) solid body electric guitar, with Okoume body, figured Maple top, bolt-on Maple neck, 24-frets roasted Maple fingerboard, DiMarzio Illuminators pickups, piezo and active boost circuits, is another great declination of the original Dream Theatre virtuoso model.
Used during decades in boat and airplane building, west african native Okoume is a great low density tonewood for electric guitars (John Suhr has been using it for many years).
Sonically, it can be considered as Mahogany with a brighter high end and more dynamic range, improving the clarity of the guitar.
