ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Neumann’s electrostatic microphone capsules for wireless systems have long set the standard
for studio-quality sound on stage, while offering the freedom and flexibility of wireless operation. Building on the success of the renowned KK 204 and KK 205 microphone capsules, we are pleased to introduce their successors: the KK 104 A and KK 105 A for Sennheiser wireless systems. These new microphone heads combine Neumann’s iconic electrostatic technology with a redesigned form factor, improved handling noise reduction, and compatibility with the latest Sennheiser wireless platforms.
Designed for use with Sennheiser Spectera, EW-D, EW-DX, and Digital 6000/9000 handheld transmitters, the KK
104 A and KK 105 A bring Neumann’s unmistakable sound signature to today’s most advanced
today.

Studio-quality sound for wireless systems
The KK 104 A and KK 105 A are high-end electrostatic microphone heads that use the same capsule technology
as the wired stage microphones in Neumann’s renowned KMS series. Unlike conventional dynamic stage microphones, these true electrostatic capsules offer the transparency, level of detail, and transient response that have made Neumann microphones the benchmark for professional studios around the world.
The new A-Series microphone heads succeed the highly popular KK 204 and KK 205 models. They feature a more elegant design and a significant reduction in handling noise, while retaining the ruggedness essential for demanding live applications.
Both microphone heads offer:
• Neumann’s characteristic transparent electret sound
• Excellent protection against plosives
• High resistance to handling noise
• Exceptional SPL handling
• Remarkable resistance to feedback
• Robust construction for professional on-stage use
Compared to dynamic microphones, the KK 104 A and KK 105 A offer a more uniform frequency response,
superior transient response, and an airy reproduction of high frequencies. The result is a more
direct, more expressive, and more intelligible vocal sound, requiring less equalization while improving feedback resistance.

Optimized for close-miking, both microphone heads feature a fixed low-cut filter that compensates for
the proximity effect. This ensures that low frequencies remain clear and perfectly controlled, even at very close range.
A hardened steel grille with an integrated pop filter protects the capsule from moisture while effectively controlling
plosives and sibilants.

Neumann microphone heads, when paired with Sennheiser wireless systems, have already demonstrated their exceptional sound quality
and reliability on some of the world’s biggest stages, notably during major international television productions
such as the Eurovision Song Contest.
The KK 104 A features a narrow cardioid polar pattern that offers excellent feedback resistance. Compared to the
supercardioid KK 105 A, it offers a slightly more open sound character and is more tolerant of
changes in position and head movements, making it an ideal choice for singers with dynamic vocal expression.

The KK 105 A uses a precise supercardioid polar pattern that ensures better rejection of unwanted sounds as well as
increased separation from neighboring instruments. The result is an exceptionally direct and intimate vocal sound, particularly
suitable for crowded stages and demanding monitor setups.
Both models are perfectly suited for vocals and speech in feedback-prone environments and perform
equally well with in-ear monitor systems as with traditional monitor systems.
