ABOUT THE PRODUCT

An electronic drum set designed without compromise

The Roland VAD716 is the most advanced model in the V-Drums Acoustic Design series. It replicates the look, dimensions, and feel of a traditional acoustic drum set while incorporating Roland’s most advanced electronic technologies.

Designed for both live performance and studio use, it combines exemplary build quality, high-end sound reproduction, and extremely precise sensing to meet the expectations of professional drummers and the most demanding enthusiasts alike.

A premium configuration inspired by acoustic drum sets

With its 22-inch wooden bass drum, four toms, and sturdy hardware, the VAD716 offers a visual presence worthy of the finest acoustic drum sets. This design provides natural ergonomics that immediately make it easy for drummers accustomed to traditional kits to find their playing reference points.

Roland mesh heads provide a particularly realistic rebound while significantly reducing sound volume, making it possible to practice at home or record in the studio without the constraints of an acoustic drum set.

The V71 module: a new generation of sound

At the heart of the kit is the new V71 module, a true evolution of previous V-Drums generations. Its sound engine reproduces the dynamic behavior of an acoustic drum set with remarkable detail, from the most delicate strokes to the most powerful hits.

Its high-definition color screen makes it easy to edit kits, mix elements, and quickly access numerous parameters. Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, you can also directly access Roland Cloud to regularly expand your sound library and take advantage of new expansions.

The dedicated software simplifies comprehensive kit management from a computer and speeds up even the most advanced adjustments.

Exceptional expressiveness thanks to digital pads

The VAD716 utilizes the most advanced digital pads developed by Roland.

The PD-14DSX snare drum features extremely sensitive detection that accurately recognizes rimshots, cross-sticks, ghost notes, and every nuance of your playing. Its new sensor system further improves responsiveness, while the tension adjustment allows you to easily customize the feel.

The VH-14D hi-hat faithfully reproduces even the slightest variations in opening, offering natural foot control and a perfectly smooth transition between different positions.

The CY-18DR ride cymbal precisely distinguishes between strikes on the bell, the body, or the rim, while allowing for instant muting for exceptionally convincing realism.

A drum kit ready for both the studio and the stage

The Roland VAD716 integrates easily into any professional environment. Its multi-channel USB audio interface allows you to record each component of the kit separately into a digital audio workstation, while the ten assignable direct outputs simplify the work of sound engineers during live performances.

Bluetooth Audio/MIDI makes it easy to work with backing tracks, educational apps, or production software—without any additional cabling.

Versatility suited to all styles

Thanks to its exceptionally rich sound engine and highly sensitive detection, the VAD716 naturally adapts to the demands of rock, pop, jazz, funk, metal, and contemporary music.

Its excellent dynamics accommodate both subtle playing and powerful strikes, while maintaining precise control over nuances. Whether for daily practice, live performances, or studio productions, it offers a playing experience that closely resembles that of a high-end acoustic drum set.
