Duesenberg Custom Shop Starplayer TV - rusty relic
With a unique character reminiscent of Gibson©, Gretsch©, or James Trussart©, and impeccable craftsmanship, the DUESENBERG Starplayer TV Rusty Relic is a semi-hollow-body electric guitar (with an internal sustain block) that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the finest American and Japanese models.
This model features a special finish that gives it a stunning “Steampunk/Vintage” look: the varnish incorporates real metal particles and is then manually patinated in a second step to give it a beautifully oxidized appearance.
The construction remains faithful to the original Starplayer TV, combining a semi-hollow body with a spruce top, a maple back and sides, a set maple neck (medium D profile), and an Indian rosewood fingerboard (25.5" Fender©-style scale, 22 jumbo frets, 12" radius). The assembly and fretwork are absolutely remarkable.
The electronics are top-notch, featuring a P-90-style single-coil pickup in the neck position that delivers just the right amount of depth and character, without the muddy sound a humbucker might have. In the bridge position, the Grand Vintage Humbucker lives up to its name, evoking the Gibson Classic 57.
To complete the vintage look, the Starplayer TV features a hybrid Fender Strat/Bigsby vibrato.
The Starplayer TV is thus a prestigious “old-school” instrument designed for professional musicians or discerning amateurs who really want to treat themselves!
