Epiphone IBG Original SG Bass - ebony
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Original Collection SG Bass (EBG3EBCHR) is a reissue of a vintage Gibson model, designed for fans of the style and sound of the '60s and '70s.
Introduced in 1961, the Gibson EB-3 was the bass version of the highly popular SG, featuring the characteristic double cutaway, a 30.5" scale length (the Epiphone’s has been extended to 34"), and two humbucking pickups—a Mini-Humbucker at the bridge and a Sidewinder Humbucker at the neck. The Gibson EB-3 was discontinued in the late 1970s.
Its most notable players included Jack Bruce of Cream, Andy Fraser of Free, and Jim Lea of Slade.
