Epiphone Original Broadway - wine red
Introduced in 1931 along with other archtop models as part of the Masterbuilt series, the Broadway was originally a non-cutaway acoustic guitar designed to compete with Gibson models such as the L-5 and the Super 400, which were widely used by jazz big bands.
After Gibson acquired the company in 1957, the Broadway underwent a major redesign in 1958, initially featuring a pair of “New York” magnetic pickups, followed by Mini-Humbuckers starting in 1961 (production was moved to Japan starting in 1970).
The EPIPHONE Original Archtops Collection Broadway (EOBDWWRGHR) is an evolution of this iconic guitar—a superbly crafted instrument that makes these inspiring tones accessible to a wider audience.
Its construction features a spruce top, a 5-ply maple body, a set mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard (24.75" scale, 20 frets).
Combined with a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbucking pickups (in the vein of the legendary Gibson P.A.F.s), it delivers full, warm, mellow, and expressive tones—perfect for musical genres such as blues, jazz, rock ’n’ roll, rockabilly, and pop-rock.
