This FENDER Custom Shop Time Machine Vintage Custom 1959 Stratocaster Time Capsule #R148219 (9237003435) is a reinterpretation of the original Strat as it evolved in the very late 1950s. It perfectly combines vintage features with some more contemporary ones.
Sold with a Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

Solid body electric guitar, “sort for lightweight” alder body, bolt-on neck made of "rift-sawn" maple, "flat-lam / sort for dark" rosewood fingerboard (’59 Esquire C profile, narrow-tall frets, hybrid radius 7.25 / 9.5"), hand-wound 1959 Strat Custom Shop pickups.

The Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are legendary electric guitars and basses that have played a major role in the popularization and rise of amplified music.
Ideally, we’d all love to be the proud owner of an original model from the ’50s, ’60s, or ’70s, but the cost of vintage instruments is so high that it’s difficult for most people to afford them. The Custom Shop Time Machine series bridges the gap between vintage instruments and current production models.

Regarding the Relic finish: dealers at NAMM 1995 were completely blown away by the level of realism in the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Although they were connoisseurs of vintage instruments, they mistook them for authentic original Fenders (they were a ’51 Nocaster and a ’56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
The accelerated aging process is now fully mastered and accounts for the bulk of the Custom Shop’s sales.
