Fulltone OCD v1.4
The OCD v1.4 is an overdrive/distortion pedal offered by the Fulltone brand.
It revolutionized the market when it was released in 2004 by using a MOSFET operational amplifier for the first time. The result is a more open, more dynamic sound that better respects the nuances of the guitarist's playing and the properties of his guitar. Capable of producing the powerful and distinctive distortion sound that we know today, its design also makes it a formidable clean boost and a circuit of choice to get the most out of a tube amp.
The OCD operates on 9 or 18 Volts and can thus further increase its dynamic capabilities. Thanks to its HP/LP selector, it offers either a colorful and powerful English sound like Vox/Marshall, or a more transparent sound that respects the original signal.
The OCD has evolved through 8 versions between 2004 and 2017 and version 1.4 released in 2009 is particularly appreciated by fans of the brand. Its circuit includes the addition of a germanium diode to generate richer harmonics, a bass attenuation and a Volume adjustment with more control.
The Fulltone "Obsessive Compulsive Drive V2" (OCD V2) reproduces the dynamics and harmonics of a tube amp saturation at full power
