Harrisson 32 CLASSIC MS
The 32 CLASSIC MS is a channel strip from Harrison.
The 32Classic MS is a high-performance analog channel strip that brings the Harrison sound and processing tools of our flagship 32Classic recording console to your studio. With additional hybrid workflow features and a built-in stereo mix bus for summing multiple units, the 32Classic MS delivers the sound of the legends while adding unique and innovative features to enhance your workflow.
Identical in design to the 32Classic console, the 32Classic MS features a transformer-coupled Jensen JT-MB-CPCA mic preamp, characterful Harrison LP/HP filters with 3 dB resonance peak, and a smooth 4-band parametric EQ. The original 3232 console was used by artists such as Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and many more to create some of the most legendary and beloved albums in music history. Now, for the first time, this unmistakable sound is available in a 19" rackmount format. Add a recording legend to your studio with the 32Classic MS.
Comprehensive Input Section:
The 32Classic MS features a versatile input section, with dedicated XLR mic and line inputs on the rear panel. For added convenience, it also offers a front-panel input with selectable Instrument/Hi-Z and Mic options. The mic input is equipped with essential features such as 48V phantom power, a -20dB pad, phase reverse and a tri-colour LED indicator. Both the mic and line inputs have independent gain controls, ensuring precise adjustments and superior performance on both inputs. Whether you're recording, producing or mixing, the 32Classic MS gives you the connectivity you need to optimise your session.
Harrison Microphone Preamp - The Sound of Legends:
One of the features that made recording legends Harrison's signature is its high-performance transformer-coupled microphone preamp. True to its heritage, the 32Classic MS microphone preamp offers 70dB of clean gain to deliver the warm, rich sound that Harrison is famous for. The Jensen JT-MB-CPCA transformer delivers full bass, open mids and smooth, natural highs. The transformer's gentle attenuation at each end of the frequency spectrum and gentle phase shift create a remarkably smooth and musical sound, making it ideal for virtually any sound source.
LP/HP Filter Features:
As with the original 3232 and the later 32Classic console, the 32Classic MS's low- and high-pass filters provide a musical 12dB/octave slope. The high-pass filter, which runs from 25Hz to 3.1kHz, includes a 3dB resonance peak, while the low-pass filter runs from 160Hz to 20kHz - ideal for eliminating hum or smoothing out high frequencies. The real Harrison magic begins when used in combination with the EQ section to tighten up the low frequencies and 'feed' the high frequencies without them ever sounding harsh or brittle.
32Classic EQ:
The 32Classic MS brings the iconic 4-band parametric EQ of the 32Classic console to a 19" rackmount format for the first time. Originally designed in the 1970s - an era when things had to be done right at the recording stage and without a safety net - its frequency bands and proportional Q have been carefully developed to deliver wide, musical and precise curves to get the best out of any sound source or application. Recognized by legendary engineers like Bruce Swedien and Roger Nichols for its power, and used in renowned studios like The Village and Westlake Studios, LA, and LSI Studios, Nashville for its flexibility - add one of the most sought-after EQs to your studio.
Integrated MixBus and Hybrid Workflow Features:
Build your Harrison recording and mixing system, strip by strip, with the 32Classic MS's integrated mixbus 32Classic MS. Designed to enhance recording and mixing workflows and capabilities, the mixbus allows you to cascade the outputs of multiple units via rear-panel summing connectors and link cables. Balance signals using the fader control and pan the stereo outputs. You can also activate the fader bypass at 0 dB and record at unity gain. Perfect for hybrid workflows, mobile setups or in your recording studio, the 32Classic MS's built-in mixbus delivers Harrison's iconic sound with exceptional flexibility.
