Ik multimedia ARC STUDIO +
The IK Multimedia ARC Studio+ is a hardware processor for acoustic calibration and correction designed to optimize the accuracy of studio monitoring systems. Placed between the audio source and the monitor speakers, it corrects the room’s acoustic anomalies to deliver a more neutral, balanced, and reliable sound reproduction. Suitable for music production, mixing, and mastering environments, it operates independently of the computer and audio production software.
Using ARC X technology, the ARC Studio+ analyzes the interactions between the speakers, subwoofer, and listening environment to compensate for frequency response irregularities and phase issues. Calibration can be performed directly from the unit, without a computer, using the included measurement microphone. This standalone mode offers measurements at 1 or 3 positions, while the ARC X software enables a more in-depth multipoint analysis at 7 or 21 positions, with customizable correction curves.
One of the key enhancements in the ARC Studio+ is its integrated support for stereo and 2.1 configurations. A dedicated output allows you to connect a subwoofer and automatically integrate it into the monitoring system. The processor handles subwoofer detection, level adjustment, phase and delay alignment, and crossover frequency optimization. This automated management improves coherence between the main speakers and the subwoofer for more accurate reproduction of low frequencies.
The ARC Studio+ also features extensive connectivity, including balanced analog XLR/TRS combo inputs, balanced XLR outputs, and optical S/PDIF digital inputs and outputs. Its USB-C connection allows both parameter control from a computer and direct digital audio playback, without requiring an additional audio interface for this purpose. The digital connections enable integration of the correction without additional analog-to-digital conversion when the system is compatible.
Designed to preserve signal transparency, the processor features 32-bit audio converters with a dynamic range of 120 dB(A) and a frequency response of 2 Hz to 87 kHz (-2 dB). Its processing offers two phase correction modes: Natural Phase, which prioritizes a low latency of 1.4 ms, and Linear Phase, which provides linear phase correction with a latency of 42 ms.
Finally, three configuration presets are directly accessible from the front panel. They allow you to instantly recall different calibration profiles, routing settings, subwoofer states, and input sources. Combined with the ARC X software, which also offers listening system simulations and customizable target curves, the ARC Studio+ provides a comprehensive solution for achieving consistent and accurate monitoring in a variety of work environments.
