Moog One 16
The Moog One is the ultimate Moog synthesizer - a tri-timbral, polyphonic, analog dream synthesizer designed to inspire imagination, spark creativity, and open portals to new realms of sonic potential. Moog's first polyphonic analog synthesizer in over three decades, the One is the culmination of years of research and development to exceed all expectations of a polyphonic instrument.
Available in 8- and 16-voice configurations, the One's polyphonic sound engine is built on the most powerful synthesizer architecture ever used in a Moog instrument. Per voice, the One features 3 newly designed analog VCOs, 2 independent analog filters, a dual-source analog noise generator, an analog mixer with external audio input, 4 LFOs, and 3 envelopes. To deliver an endlessly inspiring performance experience, each of the three timbres can be easily split or layered across the One’s expressive 61-note keyboard, each with its own built-in sequencer, arpeggiator and effects library, including a suite of Eventide’s professional reverbs.
Secured in a hand-finished ash cabinet and aluminum enclosure, the One’s front panel is equipped with 73 knobs and 144 buttons, inviting a physical connection with each
sound shaping and performance control. Expanded features are easily accessed via a “More” button per module that highlights additional parameters using the One’s center-panel LCD display to ensure the most seamless and rapid sound creation possible.
Sculpt, shape and transform your own sound with nearly endless possibilities.
MODULATION
Easily create modulation assignments from any of the One’s 4 LFOs and 3 EGs by pressing the corresponding Destination button. For more complex modulation options, the One also uses an internal modulation matrix with visual access to every possible combination of the instrument’s
synth and controller components.
SYNTH EFFECTS, MASTER BUS EFFECTS, AND EVENTIDE® REVERBS
The One features a library of programmable effects per synth and master bus, including chorus, delay, phase, bit reduction, vocoding, as well as a suite of Eventide® premium reverbs including Blackhole, Shimmer, Plate, Room, and Hall. Effects can be applied in two ways: as synth effects and master bus effects. Synthesizer effects are applied to individual timbral layers, while master bus effects can be applied via sends to all three synthesizers. Although its built-in effects are digital, the One maintains a fully analog signal path with no inline conversion when insert effects are disabled.
TRI-TIMBRALITY AND UNISON MODE
Comprised of three independently addressable analog polysynths, the One’s tri-timbral design allows voices to be assigned, split, layered, or stacked with up to 48 oscillators in Unison mode. Additionally, each synthesizer is equipped with its own step sequencer, arpeggiator, and effects processor. Multitimbral synthesis is made easy via the Moog One “Panel Focus” module. If you select a synthesizer for the Panel, the One’s front-panel buttons switch control over that timbrality layer. Users can also select multiple layers at once to adjust multiple synthesizers simultaneously.
KEYBOARD AND X/Y KEYBOARD
The One’s premium 61-note Fatar TP-8S keyboard, with ultimate velocity and modulation, ensures a balanced and dynamic playing experience for any user. In addition, milled aluminum pitch and modulation wheels and a pressure-sensitive X/Y touchpad provide a fully assignable means of expression and continuously variable control.
MORE BUTTONS
Almost every module is equipped with a triangular “More” button in the upper right corner.
When you press “More,” the Moog One’s LCD display reveals additional parameters specific to that module, providing access to advanced features and
advanced controls.
PRESETS AND PERFORMANCE SETS
A One Preset is a self-contained creative environment, saving parameter settings for all 3 Timbral Layers, along with all their respective Sequencer, Arpeggiator and Modulation settings. Moog One has the ability to store and recall tens of thousands of Presets that can be easily categorized, edited, notated and even shared via USB flash drive.
Up to 64 Presets can also be loaded into the One’s Performance Set module, where they can be instantly selected via a front-panel “Bank/Preset” button configuration, essential for live performances and sessions.
USER SPACES
Preserving more than just Presets, the User Space saves all the global behaviors, MIDI settings, port and pedal configurations, button behaviors and even LED brightness of your working environment, essential for studios and musicians. Multiple User Spaces can be created, saved and recalled – from internal memory or an external USB drive, allowing you to instantly transfer
your creative workspaces from one instrument to another.
ANALOG AND DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY
The One’s rear panel houses 2 assignable pairs of stereo audio outputs, 4 assignable inserts
and 2 external audio inputs with support for XLR and ¼” inputs. MIDI communication is via a 5-pin DIN and USB connection, which also offers system backup and restore via USB flash drive. 9 configurable CV inputs and outputs (with expression and sustain pedal inputs) are also included.
