Roland JUPITER-08

The Roland JUPITER-08 is a compact polyphonic synthesizer from the Roland Boutique series, designed to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the legendary JUPITER-8. Inspired by this iconic synthesizer from the 1980s, it combines vintage sounds, a direct control interface, and modern features tailored for music production and live performance.

The JUPITER-08 features a synthesis architecture inspired by the original JUPITER-8, with a sound response enhanced by Roland’s latest technologies. Its sound engine benefits from refined voice and pitch fluctuation management to reproduce the lively character of classic synthesizers. An advanced polyphony mode supporting up to 32 voices also allows you to explore complex arrangements and more elaborate sound textures.

Its interface features numerous knobs, sliders, and dedicated controls, allowing you to directly adjust synthesis parameters. This approach facilitates intuitive sound design and real-time adjustments, whether in the studio or on stage.

To enrich the sounds, the JUPITER-08 features 17 types of multi-effects, including Roland’s famous stereo chorus, as well as dedicated delay and reverb. The reverb offers five reverb types and a Shimmer mode, adding an octave-shifted coloration to create particularly rich and airy atmospheres.

The synthesizer includes a 64-step, two-part polyphonic sequencer capable of recording up to eight notes per step as well as parameter movements. An arpeggiator allows you to generate evolving rhythmic and melodic patterns, while the Hold function facilitates sound experimentation and live performances.

Thanks to its Roland Boutique format, the JUPITER-08 integrates easily into a compact or mobile production setup. It features a USB-C audio/MIDI interface, traditional MIDI connections, and an external clock input for synchronization with other electronic equipment.

Equipped with a built-in speaker and powered by four AA batteries or via USB-C, the JUPITER-08 can also operate standalone. It comes with the Roland K-25m keyboard, transforming the module into a compact, portable instrument that’s ready to use right out of the box without an external keyboard.
