Constructed with high-quality components and crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the MetroExpress 21-Fret Vintage J/J Bass produces sounds to match, worthy of much more expensive models.

The Sadowski SMX21VJ features an Okoume body, a bolt-on roasted maple neck (C-profile), and a Morado fingerboard (21 fretboard markers, 34" scale length, 12" radius). This combination produces rich tones with clarity, bite, and dynamics. The lows are warm, the mids are generous, and the highs are clear.
In addition to giving the wood an elegant patina, the torrefaction process improves the instrument’s stability, sustain, clarity, and resonance, while protecting it from temperature fluctuations, humidity, and mold.

Used for decades in the maritime and aerospace industries, okoumé (native to West Africa) is a wood of choice for electric guitars (John Suhr has used it for many years).
This lightweight, low-density wood can be considered a high-quality mahogany with more pronounced high frequencies and an extended dynamic range, enhancing the instrument’s clarity.

Morado (Pau Ferro), which makes up the fingerboard, is a wood sourced from the forests of Brazil and Bolivia. Its high density produces tones that are a hybrid between rosewood and maple. Its very pleasant feel is undeniably reminiscent of ebony.
