Soyuz microphones 023 MALFA Deluxe

The Soyuz 023 MALFA Deluxe is a limited-edition large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone, based on the famous 023 Bomblet.

This special version is the result of an initially private collaboration between Soyuz and the producer MALFA. The 023’s capsule has been specially retuned to achieve a more modern sound signature, designed to integrate seamlessly into contemporary productions and broadcast-ready mixes.

The 023 MALFA is distinguished by a slight boost in presence around 6 to 7 kHz, a more airy extension in the very high frequencies, and slightly more restrained low-midrange. The result is a sound that is more open, clear, and immediately present in the mix, while retaining the smoothness and musical character characteristic of the 023 series.

This sonic signature makes it particularly well-suited for lead vocals, acoustic guitars, strings, keyboards, drum overheads, ambient mikes, voice-overs, and broadcast applications.

The microphone features a handcrafted 33 mm capsule paired with the 023 Series’ FET electronics. It can handle up to 140 dB SPL, making it suitable for use with high-level sound sources.

This Deluxe edition also stands out for its distinctive finish, featuring a black center section and a MALFA badge. It comes in a wooden case with a dedicated shock mount, a microphone clip, a -20 dB attenuator, and a cable.
