ABOUT THE PRODUCT

The Most Powerful MADI & Dante Digital Audio Interface on the Market

Solid State Logic is proud to introduce the UMD192, a powerful and portable USB audio interface designed to meet the demands of professional live sound reinforcement, broadcast, and high-end studio environments. With seamless integration between MADI, Dante, and USB, the UMD192 offers flexible routing, a high channel count, and uncompromising performance for recording, playback, and format conversion. It delivers 192 channels at 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz, in a compact and portable ½RU form factor.

The Perfect Bridge Between USB, MADI, and Dante

Designed for versatility, the UMD192 supports bidirectional audio between any two formats—MADI, Dante, or USB—with the third format capable of receiving a split stream. This makes it ideal for connecting multiple MADI-enabled devices to a Dante network, or for high-speed recording and playback via USB 3.0.

On the network side, the UMD192 offers full Dante AoIP interoperability with support for AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) and ultra-low Dante latency as low as 0.25 ms. The UMD192 provides flexible clocking options from either MADI or Dante, covering sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. With six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can also be configured in redundant mode, enabling three doubly redundant MADI connections for critical broadcast and live workflows.

The all-in-one solution for live, broadcast, and studio sound

While the UMD192 is naturally suited to live sound environments, its versatility makes it equally valuable in a wide range of professional audio scenarios. From broadcast music recording and mixing—especially when paired with the SSL System T—to high-channel studio sessions, the UMD192 offers seamless integration and robust performance.

It's an ideal computer interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante, and it integrates perfectly with Oracle or ORIGIN SSL setups with Dante or MADI conversion. The UMD192 is a powerful solution for users of non-SSL consoles in live sound reinforcement, broadcast, studio, and post-production environments. It offers exceptional connectivity, format conversion, and operational flexibility in a compact and portable form factor.

With unparalleled flexibility and robust connectivity, the UMD192 is the ideal companion for engineers working in live sound, broadcast, post-production, and studio environments. Whether used as a high-capacity interface or a format bridge, the UMD192 streamlines workflows and future-proofs them.

Intuitive Front Panel Controls

The UMD192's front panel features clear, highly visible indicators that provide real-time information on signal flow, sample rate synchronization, power status, and network connectivity, allowing you to maintain control even under pressure. The UMD192's front panel controls are locked by default to protect your preset configuration and prevent accidental changes to settings. Press and hold the lock button to temporarily unlock the other controls and switch modes.

• Lock – Press and hold to unlock the other front panel controls. Press and hold until the red lock symbol in the center of the indicator panel circle turns off.

• Mode – Press to cycle through the signal flow modes – Available when the front panel is unlocked.

• Clock Source – Press to switch between Dante and MADI as the clock source – Available when the front panel is unlocked.

• MADI Redundancy – Press to enable or disable MADI redundancy. Redundant mode applies to all MADI ports. – Available when the front panel is unlocked.

Flexible Power and Redundancy

The UMD192 supports multiple power sources (AC, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and USB), providing flexible deployment options and allowing engineers and operators to incorporate power redundancy into their configuration. Each of these power sources can be used individually, and PoE can be combined with an external power supply to provide redundant power.
