The OB-4 black is a high-end Bluetooth speaker from Teenage Engineering.

Beneath its sleek user interface, Teenage Engineering’s “Magic Radio” hides some fascinating magic tricks: briefly rewind to remember the title of your new favorite song? Restart an audiobook or slow down the reading of sports scores? Missed the news? No worries! The OB-4 records the entire audio playback in a two-hour virtual loop. This loop can be repeated, stretched in time and much more. All this is made as simple and intuitive to use as an old cassette recorder, thanks to motorized controllers.

In terms of audio technology, the device is at the cutting edge, delivering clear and natural sound with immersive bass thanks to its integrated 2-way stereo speaker system, equipped with 2×38-watt Class-D amplification and an optimized bass-reflex duct. Available sources include a built-in FM tuner, premium Bluetooth, line-in and disc mode. In the latter mode, new experimental features are continually being developed for the OB-4. Currently, three sound loops are available:

Ambient: drone sounds created from fragments of a radio broadcast.

Metronome: high-definition stereo recording, from 1 to 800 BPM.

Karma: 30 musical loops of mantras as a spiritual companion.

The cleverly designed carrying handle also serves as a tilting stand for an optimal listening and monitoring position and incorporates a smart helical antenna for FM. Ideal for on the go, the OB-4 is a companion of choice thanks to its integrated Lipo battery, providing a week of autonomy for mobile use or 8 hours of continuous operation at a maximum power of 100 dB. Optional leather or nylon carrying cases ensure optimum protection while maximizing functionality.
