Universal audio Volt 4 G2
Professional Sound with Intelligent Control
The Volt 4 Gen 2 is a versatile USB audio interface designed for scalable studio setups.
Designed by the team behind the Apollo interfaces, it combines high-resolution conversion, Tone Shaping preamps, visual control via a color display, and extensive connectivity for recording vocals, instruments, line sources, and even MIDI equipment.
Thanks to Auto-Gain and anti-clipping protection, levels are easier to adjust, while the ADAT input lets you expand the number of available channels as your setup grows.
Three Tone Shaping modes to tailor your recordings
The two microphone preamps on the Volt 4 Gen 2 feature 60 dB of gain and three Tone Shaping modes:
Warmth: to add a warm character inspired by tube circuits
Focus: for a precise and present sound
Shine: to capture the bright character of a British Class A preamp
These modes let you quickly adjust the tonal character of vocals and instruments right during recording.
32-bit / 192 kHz audio conversion
Professional 32-bit / 192 kHz converters ensure detailed reproduction of your takes.
The Volt 4 Gen 2 supports multiple sample rates up to 192 kHz, for both recording and playback.
Connectivity Designed to Grow with You
The Volt 4 Gen 2 offers extensive connectivity to support more ambitious setups.
It includes:
2 microphone inputs
2 Hi-Z instrument inputs
4 line inputs
multiple line outputs
an optical ADAT/S/PDIF input
a MIDI input
a MIDI output
a built-in USB hub
The ADAT input allows you to add up to 8 additional digital channels at 44.1 or 48 kHz.
The MIDI connectivity allows you to connect controllers, keyboards, synthesizers, and drum machines.
Smart Display Color Screen
The Smart Display lets you quickly view inputs, levels, and the interface’s main settings.
This visual feedback makes adjustments easier during sessions and simplifies monitoring of the various channels.
Auto-Gain and Overload Protection
The Auto-Gain feature automatically adjusts recording levels in just a few seconds.
Clip protection helps manage unexpected level spikes to reduce the risk of digital clipping during takes.
ADAT and S/PDIF Expansion
The optical digital input can operate in ADAT or S/PDIF mode.
In ADAT mode, it supports:
8 channels at 44.1 or 48 kHz
4 channels in S/MUX at 96 kHz
2 channels in S/MUX at 192 kHz
In S/PDIF mode, it supports 2 channels at all supported sample rates.
Built-in MIDI
The Volt 4 Gen 2 features a MIDI input and output via 3.5 mm TRS Type A mini-jacks.
This allows it to be easily integrated into a setup that includes synthesizers, MIDI controllers, keyboards, or drum machines.
Built-in USB Hub
A built-in USB hub port allows you to connect an external device and provides up to 5 V DC / 0.5 A of power.
This feature can make it easier to use certain USB MIDI controllers in a mobile or compact setup.
Integration with UAD Console and LUNA
The Volt 4 Gen 2 integrates with UAD Console and LUNA, particularly for session recall and managing low-latency headphone monitoring.
It also remains compatible with the leading digital audio workstations on the market.
Built-in Loopback for Streaming and Podcasting
The Loopback feature allows you to combine sources connected to the interface with audio from your computer.
It is particularly useful for:
podcasts
livestreams
content creation
video calls
recordings combining microphones, instruments, and system audio
An interface designed for mobile setups
The Volt 4 Gen 2 can be powered via USB in compatible setups.
It can therefore be used with a computer, tablet, or smartphone, while still offering a comprehensive enough set of connections for more elaborate studio setups.
