Yamaha PSR-A700

The Yamaha PSR-A700 is a professional 61-key arranger keyboard designed specifically for Asian and Middle Eastern music. It combines an extensive library of traditional sounds, authentic accompaniments, and expressive control features to meet the needs of musicians, whether on stage, in the studio, or during composition sessions. Inheriting some of the sounds from the PSR-A5000, it offers a wealth of musical expression in a compact and versatile format.

The PSR-A700 features 1,144 sounds, 86 drum kits and sound effects, as well as 480 XG sounds. Its library notably includes traditional instruments such as the oud, the qanun, and the ney, allowing users to explore the various musical traditions of the Middle East. Among these sounds, 226 Super Articulation voices reproduce the playing techniques specific to acoustic instruments, with nuances in attack, ornamentation, and expressive transitions that respond naturally to the performer’s touch. The keyboard also features 473 accompaniment styles, offering a wide variety of rhythms and arrangements to enrich performances.

Designed with the specific characteristics of Middle Eastern music in mind, the PSR-A700 incorporates advanced scale adjustment functions, allowing users to customize tunings and reproduce the characteristic intervals of various regional musical modes. Its joystick provides direct, real-time control over pitch and modulation, facilitating melodic inflections and expressive effects. The Crossfade Portamento function ensures smooth transitions between notes, making it particularly well-suited for glissandos, ornaments, and legato phrases characteristic of these repertoires.

To support musical creation, the PSR-A700 features the Chord Looper function, which allows you to record and automatically repeat chord progressions. This allows musicians to focus on melodies, variations, and improvisation without having to constantly replay the accompanying chords. The Smart Chord function simplifies the creation of complex chords while preserving the harmonic richness of the accompaniments.

The keyboard features a 2 x 15 W stereo amplification system, designed to deliver clear, balanced, and powerful sound despite its compact size. Its built-in speakers ensure a strong sound presence, while the Line Out jacks allow you to connect it to a mixing console, powered speakers, or an external sound system for live performances.

The PSR-A700 also offers numerous options for expanding your musical environment. Using the Expansion Explorer app, you can search for, manage, and install additional content to expand your library of sounds and styles. Its expansion memory of approximately 700 MB can accommodate new resources tailored to your musical preferences.

Bluetooth audio connectivity allows you to wirelessly stream music from a smartphone or tablet, so you can play along with backing tracks or work on different repertoires. A built-in audio recorder also lets you capture your performances, while MIDI recording functions make it easy to create and edit compositions.

With its wide range of Middle Eastern sounds, advanced expression features, and accompaniment and expansion capabilities, the Yamaha PSR-A700 is a comprehensive solution for musicians who want to perform, compose, and arrange Middle Eastern music with authenticity and freedom.
