Harrisson FLEX-10
With the Flex-10, Harrison Audio brings the analog character that has defined the sound of its consoles since the 1970s to a USB/ADAT audio interface. With 32-bit/192 kHz conversion, transformer-coupled preamps, and expandable connectivity, this interface is equally suited for solo recording and sessions with multiple musicians.
Want to move beyond a flat-sounding entry-level interface, leave your old tape machine in the past, or simply add a vintage touch to your digital workflow? The Flex-10 is the solution for all three scenarios. See the full specifications below.
Overview
As the successor to the Harrison Series 32 analog consoles, the Flex-10 incorporates some of their iconic circuits into a compact audio interface enclosure. There’s no need to invest in a full-fledged console to recapture some of that signature sound in the studio.
Features include: 10 inputs/12 outputs, two preamps with H DRIVE™ transformer saturation, high-pass and low-pass filters derived from the 32 Series, two front-panel instrument inputs, balanced inserts on each channel, 8 ADAT I/O channels, dual independent monitoring outputs, multiple headphone outputs, TRS MIDI I/O, and analog VU meters. All of this comes bundled with the Harrison Creator Pack and a Mixbus 12 license.
This interface is designed for setups where analog character is just as important as digital precision: home studios, small-scale recording facilities, or mobile USB setups.
High-pass and low-pass filters inherited from the 32 Series
These filters use the circuitry from Harrison’s 32 Series consoles, rather than a simple software algorithm applied as an afterthought. The processing acts directly on the input signal. This allows you to clean up a source right at the recording stage and lighten the mixing workload by avoiding post-production spectral corrections.
Two front-panel instrument inputs for direct access
Positioned on the front panel rather than at the back of the rack, the two instrument inputs accept guitar, bass, or any other instrument-level source. This placement saves you from having to navigate around your setup in the middle of a session to plug in an instrument—a significant time saver in a home studio.
Balanced inserts per channel for external gear
Each channel features a dedicated balanced insert point, capable of accommodating a compressor, a Harrison 500 Series module, or an effects pedal in the signal chain before recording. Unlike purely post-production processing via plug-ins, this approach shapes the sound at the source and brings your workflow closer to that of a studio equipped with analog outboard gear.
32-bit/192 kHz conversion for extended resolution
The Flex-10’s next-generation converters operate at 32-bit/192 kHz. Compared to an interface limited to 24-bit/96 kHz, this resolution provides more headroom in post-production, particularly when managing level and background noise. This gives you more usable material to work with during mixing, even on takes recorded with a safety margin.
8 ADAT I/O channels to expand your channel count
These 8 ADAT channels allow you to connect additional preamps or external converters. Unlike a closed USB interface, which is limited to its own physical inputs, this expansion lets you scale your studio without changing your main interface—useful for recording a full drum kit or multiple musicians simultaneously.
Two independent monitor outputs and multiple headphone outputs
Two monitor outputs with dedicated level controls, plus multiple high-current headphone outputs: this lets you set up separate monitoring for you and a collaborator, or power high-impedance closed-back headphones without distortion. An interface limited to a single headphone output doesn’t offer this flexibility.
MIDI I/O via 3.5 mm TRS connectors
Instead of standard DIN connectors, the Flex-10’s MIDI I/O uses 3.5 mm TRS connectors. Synthesizers and drum machines can thus be connected directly, without a separate MIDI interface—one less connection to manage for a compact home studio setup that includes hardware.
Analog VU meters for visual level control
On the front panel, analog VU meters display the signal level in real time. A needle-style VU meter provides a more intuitive indication of dynamic range variations than a simple LED indicator—a useful visual cue during sessions to prevent digital clipping.
The Harrison Creator Pack and Mixbus 12 Included
The Flex-10 includes the Harrison Creator Pack—virtual instruments, plug-ins, loops, and samples from Solid State Logic, Slate Digital, Native Instruments, and other partners—as well as a full license for Mixbus 12, the Harrison DAW built around a console-style workflow. Unlike an interface sold without software, you get a complete studio—hardware and software—right out of the box.
